The ceiling MaKEOVeR October 2011
In this beautiful historical home in the borough we created a custom ceiling. Our client gave us full creativity in the design and overall look. We added a custom moulding trim piece below the existing crown moulding and also added the same profile moulding on the ceiling. We then painted the expanded moulding two coats semi-gloss. Expanding the existing moulding we gave the moulding a more substantial prominence in the room and further matching the existing base moulding and the detail of the large scale door casings as well as the windows. The textured faux finish we created on the ceiling covered over a non discript ceiling with numerous blemishes. The texture we created has a directional pattern to the center of the room were we installed a 27" medalion as well as a new light fixture. The ceiling was glazed in a tan goldish hue showing all the detail in the faux finish.

Room
In this unique room we installed decorative crown moulding and painted the ceiling, walls and trim. The installation was unique as this older home has hot water radiant heating with the supply piping as part of the room. Our solution was decorative blocking custom fit around the piping.

Room / Hall / Kitchen
Installation of crown moulding throughout first floor Kitchen, Dining and Family room, along with painting of ceilings, trim and walls. Created a bagged glazed faux effect in bathroom. Conceptualize and construct shelf system with column and lighting in Master Bedroom. Changed door casings to larger size with plinth blocking and removed old small profile baseboards and installed new 6". Finished and painted.

Kitchen / Foyer painting & faux stripes and refinished lamp fixture In this home we painted the kitchen, entry foyer and upstairs hallway walls and trim. In the kitchen we repaired the ceiling from water damage. We also painted the kitchen cabinetry in Sherwin-Williams oil modified high gloss finish. Additionally, we measured, drilled and installed new cabinet door hardware. In the entry foyer we created a striping effect, using the color of the kitchen walls as our accent color. We also refinished a non discript lamp fixture using the colors of the kitchen and foyer.

Bathroom
Removed existing toilet and vanity. Removed wallpaper, oil primed walls. Installed hardy backer board, base for new tile. Installed new ceramic tile, grouted. Installed bead board, with new base moulding and capping. Installed new toilet and vanity. Finish pictures to come.

Kitchen
In this home in Newtown we removed the vinyl sheet flooring and installed a pre-engineered wood floor, glued down. The cabinets were a natural oak wood and were oil primed and oil painted two coats. The countertops were stripped and we installed new laminate. Installed new hardware and lighting.
Room
Here we installed a custom molding combination to enhance the era of the room of this older Borough home. The construction was then painted with an oil finish. We also opened up the original fake fireplace as constructed nearly 100 years ago. We opened up the wall and removed a layer of brick and reused the brick to create a deeper hearth.

The Hall
In this fantastic home we painted the walls, ceiling a flat yellow/tan and below the chair rail we created a mulitiple sponge faux techique finish and painted all the trim in a pearl finish. The ceiling area was one solid color from our original paint job when constructed. We painted the interior square areas the same color as the walls. This custom home was originally painted by us in 1999 as new construction.
Bathroom
This bathroom finds everything new - marble tile floor, addition of dental crown molding, toilet, walls were sanded from textured with Ralph Lauren sand finish. We created a metallic finish walls and ceiling and new 6" baseboard molding. Additionally we installed a new vanity and plumbing and light fixture.
Living Room
Historical restoration of 1800's home living room. Installed textured wall paper, painted and glazed. In addition we added a molding just below paper. The plaster walls and ceiling were repaired and finished in an eggshell finish with the ceiling flat. The trim is all high gloss oil. The room was decorated by the homeowner....great job Maryalice!
